Dear Friends –

          This year has definitely been the most exciting, memorable, and challenging year of my life thus far.  Since I was crowned on April Fools Day, 2000, I have cleared and begun two major hurdles—the former being high school and the latter college.  It is hard to believe that I actually survived the anxiety of two pageants, the transition process into college, and the physical separation from my friends and family all within a few months.

          I truly believe that my role as Miss Carlsbad has helped to shape the person I am today.  Thanks to the support and love I have found in my family, friends, and the Carlsbad community, I feel fully confident to face the adversities of life armed with a humble and good-natured spirit and the wisdom of God.  There is no way I would be where I am today and feel how I feel right now without the love that surrounds me.  I will never forget this year.
