To my family,
friends, and the community of Carlsbad-- Growing up in such a beautiful city all of my life has truly been a wonderful experience! There really is "no place like home!" I am sure all the Carlsbad locals understand what I am saying and don't need an explanation of how Carlsbad is the perfect place to live. Representing my hometown for a full year has been such a great opportunity and I have had an unforgettable time. Serving as ambassador of my city, I have enjoyed my involvement with the public and will never forget the people I have met and the friendships I have gained. My happiness comes from being involved and
giving back to a community that has given so much to me. Speaking of giving, I
really feel the Lord has blessed me in everything that I choose to do and I
continue to devote my love and life to Jesus, my savior, who gives me strength.
First and foremost, my reign as Miss Carlsbad 2001 is dedicated to my
parents. Without the
confidence, love and support they have instilled in me, I would not be the young
woman I am today. Thank you both for believing in me and for giving me the
world. You will always be my rescue rangers. Mommy, you are truly the woman I
strive to be one day. Thank you for your never ending patience and devotion to
our family. I am blessed to have a mother and best friend like you. I love you.
Daddy, I'll always be your little girl forever. Thank you for everything you
have provided our family and also for your infinite amount of love and kindness.
You are one in a million, I love you. To my three older bro's, even though
you're probably sick of going to pageants and recitals, I couldn't ask for more
supportive siblings ... I love you guys! To my queens in different area codes, I
am so glad I have been able to spend time with exceptional young ladies like
you. I have had the time of my life
and will never forget my pageant experiences. Miss Coronado & Miss PQ, (a.k.a.Brooke
& Ashley) what would I do without you two? You have become a special part of
my life and I am glad we are perfect for each other ... forsheezy! Never forget
the memories we've shared ... more to come! Luv ya tons! Good morning queens! To
Miss O'side, Julie, and FOF, Shalini, I'll never forget the Mardi Gras Ball ...
believe me! You both are beautiful inside as well as out! Friends forever. To
the "super seven," girls just wanna have fun! To the fairest of
the fair staff, Joe and Linda Amaro, thank you so much for a wonderful year and
a fun experience. I also extend my thanks to Pam Pahnke and the Carlsbad Lions
Club, for putting on such a wonderful pageant and being such a great
organization. It has truly been an honor to have been crowned Miss Carlsbad
2001! Lastly, to the city of Carlsbad and the rest of the country, for the times
we are enduring, a verse to live by:
